City & Guilds Process Technology : Level 2

Overview

City and Guilds is recognised by employers worldwide for providing qualifications that offer proof of the skills that they need to get the job done.

Learners will be able to enhance their technical skills to gaining employment in the following process industries; chemical processing, metal production, petroleum and water operations. This qualification can also be used to improve one chances of upward mobility throughout various work sectors.

Exams: Will I be Tested?

All students will be assessed via written examinations, oral questioning and practical assessments. Successful completion of the programme depends on the students demonstrating both the theoretical and practical competencies required in each unit.

Awards: How can I Update my Portfolio?

A Certificate in Process Technology will be awarded by City and Guilds International upon successful completion.

Prerequisites: How do I Apply?

Secondary school graduates must have the following prerequisites:

  • Five CXC or GCE subjects, Grades I, II or III, or A, B, or C, including Mathematics, English and a Science subject (Physics, Chemistry or Integrated Science)
  • Students with Advanced level subjects will be considered as well

For the mature applicant (persons over 21 years) experience in the oil and gas industry combined with on-the-job training will serve as prerequisites.

A diagnostic assessment in literacy and numeracy will be administered to persons using the mature entry route.

Alliances

KSPT was registered with the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) on 23 July 2009 as a post secondary institution and is now legally authorised to offer a wide range of programs to the industry and public.

On 20 April 2010 KSPT was awarded Center Approval Status with City & Guilds International and was further approved to deliver the Process Technology and International Vocational Qualification in Oil and Gas programmes.

Customised Training

The Kenson School of Production Technology Limited has positioned itself as a provider of customized training for clients in the industry. We have the capability to develop training modules that build technical competencies relevant to the unique operational requirements of different plants. This unique capability is built on a platform of many years of operational and maintenance experience in the offshore oil and gas industry and also harnesses up-to-date data from an integrated services perspective.
